SOUTH WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT
The South Whitehall Township Police Department is committed to providing the people within our jurisdiction the highest level of service that is possible. By holding our officers to recognized standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct, we strive to provide all citizens quality service.

The Department’s daily goals are the protection of life, liberty, and property. To attain these goals we will work in unison with our citizens to seek solutions to problems of crime, quality of life issues, or any situation of community importance that involves police department assistance. This is to be accomplished while recognizing that all people will be treated in a fair, dignified and courteous manner.

All qualifications listed with Patrol Officer and must also have at least two years experience as Captain. This position is out of union.

Every applicant at time of application must possess an Associate’s degree of not fewer than 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university or have completed at least 60 credit hours or equivalent in a Bachelors Degree program or an applicant with at least two years active duty military experience and not fewer than 30 hours of credit or equivalent at an accredited college or University. Must be a US Citizen and must possess a valid Driver’s license and must be physically and mentally fit to perform the essential duties of the role of Police Officer. Must submit a completed application to be eligible to take a civil service test. Must be 21 years of age prior to the application deadline. If applicant passes test within 6 months of completing probationary period they must live within a radius of 25 miles from the Township boundaries.
