Delivers nursing care for patients across their lifespan. Extensive
orientation programs for all areas of nursing. St. Luke’s offers opportunities at all 14 Campuses for Graduate Nurses to start their career on a variety of Medical Surgical Departments or Specialty Internships including: Critical Care, Obstetrics, NICU, Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, Perioperative. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Temporary practice permit issued.
Provides patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Observation opportunities in specialty areas, exposure to aspects of the RN role. Currently enrolled in baccalaureate nursing program with successful completion of junior year and entering senior year.
Provides direct patient care in designated unit/department under the
supervision of the Registered Nurse. Requires basic computer skills. On-site training provided. High school graduate or equivalent.
Observes patients under the close supervision and direction of the
registered nurse. No experience needed. On-site training provided. High
school graduate or equivalent. Patient Transporter: transports patients safely throughout the hospital. No experience needed. On- site training provided. High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
Junior Volunteers (High School Students): This program allows high school students to learn key soft skills needed for the workplace while learning about health care careers. Students (14 and older) are assigned an area of interest and work directly with patients and staff providing assistance! JuniorVolunteers@sluhn.org
