This session offers all 5 reentry workshops in one hybrid setting to help justice-impacted individuals overcome barriers and confidently re-enter the workforce. Whether you’re a returning citizen, someone who has had an encounter with the justice system, or simply someone seeking to address challenges in your employment history, this workshop is designed to equip you with the tools, strategies, and insights you need to succeed in today’s job market.

The session will begin promptly at 9:00 A.M. This workshop will be offered via Zoom, and in person at Palmer Recovery Center, 2906 William Penn Highway, Easton, PA 18045.

Agenda:

  • Developing a Plan: What to Do, When to Do It – Develop a strategic job search plan to maximize your opportunities, create actionable steps for successful job hunting, and address the challenges justice-impacted individuals face.
  • Addressing Background and Gaps in Employment – Learn strategies for addressing background issues and employment gaps and understand how to highlight your growth and potential.
  • The Big Interview: Your Reentry Playbook – Explore PA CareerLink®’s interactive tool for interview preparation, The Big Interview, and learn best practices for navigating tough interview questions.
  • Why People Don’t Get Hired – Explore common barriers that hinder job placement and discuss the importance of self-advocacy and resilience in the job search.
  • Top Skills Employers Value – Understand the skills employers are looking for today and learn how to highlight your strengths and showcase your skills to stand out in a competitive job market.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nancy Dischinat, our long-serving and deeply respected Executive Director.

Nancy dedicated more than 40 years of service to the Workforce Board Lehigh Valley, shaping countless programs, partnerships, and careers throughout our community. Her vision and leadership helped build one of Pennsylvania’s strongest workforce systems, and her commitment to collaboration and innovation will continue to impact generations to come.

Nancy devoted her life’s work to building a stronger, more equitable workforce system for the Lehigh Valley. Under her leadership, the region became a model for workforce collaboration, innovation, and results, helping thousands of residents connect to meaningful employment and training opportunities.

Nancy was more than a leader; she was a mentor, a colleague, and a friend. Her legacy of integrity, compassion, and dedication to the people of the Lehigh Valley will remain an enduring part of who we are.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know and work alongside her. Plans to honor her life and legacy will be announced in the coming days.
