Job scams are on the rise, and they’re getting more convincing.
If a job offer seems too good to be true, it probably is. Be cautious of roles that promise high pay for little work, skip formal interviews, or pressure you to act fast.

🚩Red flags to watch for:
• Requests for upfront payments (training, equipment, etc.)
• Vague job descriptions or unclear responsibilities
• Communication from unofficial email domains
• Requests for sensitive personal or banking information early on

Before saying yes, take a moment to research the company, verify the recruiter, and trust your instincts. A legitimate opportunity will never rush you or ask you to compromise your security.

Stay informed. Stay safe.

On Wednesday, April 8th, several CareerLink staff members participated in a Re-entry Simulation hosted by Lafayette College. The experience was profoundly impactful and emotionally resonant. Walking through the realities faced by individuals returning to society after incarceration highlighted the many challenges that are often overlooked or taken for granted.

This simulation reinforced the importance of empathy, understanding, and community support for those navigating re-entry. It served as a powerful reminder that meaningful second chances require both awareness and action.

As April is recognized nationally as #SecondChanceMonth, CareerLink remains deeply committed to supporting returning citizens and promoting fair-chance employment opportunities. We believe in the potential of every individual and are dedicated to fostering pathways that lead to stability, dignity, and long-term success.
