William came into the PA CareerLink® Lehigh Valley office in October 2024 to register for unemployment. He had twelve years of experience in the security industry, where he supervised, trained, and mentored personnel. His last position was with Harvard Security in Norristown. William was very diligent in his job search, visiting the office every day to look for work and to attend workshops and recruitment events.
After some time, with a lot of encouragement from the staff, William finally agreed to go through the Welcome Center to explore additional programs and services that could assist him. Before this could happen, however, he received a call from Sodexo to interview for a dietary aide position. Although he had never worked in the food service industry before, he accepted the offer and started working on December 27, 2024.
Unfortunately, it soon became clear to William that the position was not a good fit for him, and he decided to leave. He returned to CareerLink® Lehigh Valley, once again searching for a job. Quickly getting back into job search mode, William began researching opportunities and completing applications for security openings. Finally, City Security of Allentown contacted him for an interview, and due to his extensive experience in the industry, he was offered a position that aligned with his skill set.
William could not praise the excellent customer service he received from the staff at CareerLink and the valuable services they provided enough.
