In the most recent episode of the Business and Industry Podcast, student intern Jenni Silfies had an engaging conversation with NFI’s Vice President of Workforce Strategy, Jamie Anderson. The podcast aims to inspire high school students and job seekers to explore various career paths and acquire essential skills necessary for success.
Anderson entered the industry right after finishing high school, initially taking on a summer job. However, that temporary gig transformed into a prosperous and stable career path. She gained valuable experience working in a warehouse while simultaneously pursuing her college education. After completing her degree, she advanced into a management position.
Leveraging her expertise and accomplishments, she transitioned to NFI Industries in 2014, further building upon her professional journey.
As a woman in a leadership position in a traditionally male-dominated industry, Anderson reflects on her career. She acknowledges the encouraging changes that have occurred, both within the industry, and specifically within NFI.
NFI, as a family-owned business, places tremendous importance on their company culture. Their values are incredibly strong, with a deep-rooted focus on family and safety that serves as the foundation of their business.
NFI teamed up with the Workforce Board Lehigh Valley to create a career pathway. Anderson highlights how there are many different ways that you can get your foot in the door and climb up the company ladder. It’s all about finding your unique entry point and seizing those opportunities to make your way to the top.
The transportation and warehousing industry is experiencing major industrial growth within the Lehigh Valley. NFI Industries is hiring across the country in many roles to accommodate for growth. They’re on the lookout for talented individuals to join their team and be a part of their company.
NFI Industries has many opportunities for high school students looking for part-time jobs. In addition, there are plenty of opportunities to shift into full-time positions and find exciting paths for personal and career growth.
